Last Chance for Animals (LCA), San Diego

LCA San Diego is an all-volunteer chapter of the non-profit organization Last Chance for Animals. Our mission is to educate the public about animal rights issues and to promote a cruelty-free vegan lifestyle. Since we started our chapter in 1993, our main activity has been to bring our information booth to street fairs and other events around San Diego County.
 
LCA San Diego has hosted many special guest speakers, including Karen Davis, George Eisman, Michael Greger, Erik Marcus, Janice Stanger, and Will Tuttle and has protested/leafleted at locations such as:

  • Ringling Bros. and other circuses (due to ongoing and extreme animal cruelty; www.circuses.com).
  • March of Dimes WalkAmerica (in opposition to their funding cruel and unethical animal experiments; www.reformthemarchofdimes.org).
  • The Canadian Embassy (against their annual baby seal slaughter; www.harpseals.org).

All donations are used to pay for literature, booth space at street fairs, our post office box, and for special events. We have no paid staff and no office. We really appreciate your support!
 
You can also save your gently used household items, books, clothing, and miscellaneous treasures to donate to our annual rummage sale fundraiser which is usually held in September in Encinitas. Please check our "Events and Volunteer Opportunities" page for more details about the annual sale. Due to limited storage space, we are unfortunately unable to accept items until approximately 3 weeks before the sale.
