You have just dined, and no matter how scrupulously the slaughterhouse is concealed in the graceful distance
of miles, there is complicity.

LCA San Diego: Getting Active for the Animals!
Since we formed the San Diego chapter of Last Chance for Animals in 1993, our main activity as a non-profit, all-volunteer animal
rights organization has been to bring our info booth to street fairs and other events around the county, where we:
-
Distribute excellent literature published by several different organizations, including PETA's Vegan Starter Kits, Vegan Outreach's Why Vegan and Guide to Cruelty-Free Eating, and PCRM's Nutrition for Your Kids: A Dietary Approach to Cancer Prevention, and Healthy Eating for Life: Food Choices for Cancer Prevention and Survival.
-
Distribute thousands of free CDs with PETA's Meet Your Meat and John Feldman's Free Me videos, Bruce Friedrich's Veganism in a Nutshell talk, and other videos and literature files.
- Answer people's questions about going vegan, buying cruelty-free products not tested on animals, students' right to not dissect, choosing humane entertainment, what we eat, where we get our protein, and whether or not fish are on the vegan menu!
If you are a friendly vegetarian or vegan, we need your help at these and other upcoming events. You don't need to be an expert
to volunteer. It would be great if you can help!
SAVE THE DATE - DR. MICHAEL GREGER ON SUNDAY, 9/29/13
We are so lucky that Dr. Greger will return to San Diego to give his newest presentation, "The Role of Diet in Preventing our Most Common Diseases".
He will speak from 6:00 - 8:00 pm at the Joyce Beers Community Center in Hillcrest. We're still in the planning
stage, but it's likely we will have some yummy vegan food available from 5:00 - 6:00 pm! Please save the date and stay tuned.
LCA San Diego will host this very special event.
